Special Education Department
SPECIAL EDUCATION
The district special education program currently serves more than 675 students operating under Federal and State guidelines, offering a full continuum of services to students with disabilities.
How We Help
Every student deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. We provide individualized special education services that support students in inclusive learning environments whenever possible.
Here’s how it works:
- Identify needs through evaluations and collaboration with families and educators.
- Design supports through the IEP process, selecting services and settings that best fit each student.
- Deliver services such as resource support, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech language services to help students make meaningful progress.
Our promise is simple: students receive the right support, in the right setting, at the right time—so they can build skills, gain independence, and reach their full potential.

Compliance Notice
Special education services are provided in accordance with federal and state regulations. Service delivery models, instructional settings, and related services are determined through comprehensive evaluation and the Individual Education Program (IEP) process. Placement decisions are based on each student’s identified needs, annual goals, and least restrictive environment requirements. Services may include support in general education classrooms, resource settings, or other instructional environments, as well as related services such as occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech language services, when appropriate. Eligibility, service type, and service intensity are determined by the IEP team.
