Hermiston, OR — Hermiston High School is proud to announce two exciting additions to its athletic leadership team, Brittany Day as Head Coach for Girls Soccer and Kendall Jones as Head Coach for Volleyball. Both coaches bring deep experience, energy, and a shared passion for guiding student-athletes on and off the field.

Brittany Day joins the Bulldogs following a standout season as Assistant Coach at Umatilla High School, helping the girls soccer team reach the OSAA state quarterfinals. Prior to moving to Tri-Cities from Henderson, NV, she spent nine years coaching at Green Valley High School, four as JV Head Coach and five as Varsity Head Coach, finishing second in conference during her final two seasons.

Brittany Day brings years of experience and a deep love for the game to her new role at Hermiston. “Coaching brings me so much joy,” she shares. “It’s about more than tactics; it’s about confidence, resilience, and creating meaningful connections. I’m incredibly excited for this new chapter with Hermiston.”

Kendall Jones has served as Assistant Volleyball Coach at Hermiston for the past three years. A La Grande native and former player, she previously coached in Union, OR from 2017–2021. Kendall is passionate about creating a strong team culture, she shares. “I love being part of something bigger, building a space where athletes feel supported and grow as people. It’s a privilege to walk alongside them in their journeys.”

Athletic Director Larry Usher shared his thoughts on both hires: “Hermiston Athletics is incredibly fortunate to add both Brittany and Kendall to our head coaching ranks. Brittany brings a focused and driven energy with years of success at the high school and club level, while Kendall’s deep connection to our school and athletes makes her the perfect fit. With their leadership, we are confident these programs and our athletic culture as a whole will thrive.”
