High School Resource Officer

everybody I'm off to Derrick Williams the Hermiston police depart I am the new student resource officer here at the Hermiston high school and hope to be seeing all you guys real soon I've been a police officer here in Hermiston for about three years prior to that is 3 years at the Umatilla Police Department and I was wanting to be a cop from the time I was little kid I grew up not having much having parents when I was the greatest influences but I knew that I wanted to make something of myself so I decided to become a police officer I went to school here in Hermiston up until High School Stanfield graduate of Danville High School back in 2009 so in addition to working as police officers for the last six years I've lived in Hermiston for the last 25 or so years I've got a wife who works in a community and I have two young kids ages 4 and 1/2 girls who will be attending the Hermiston school district and I feel my best way of giving back is to be that resource officer and help you guys anyway I can I knew that I was going to be a police officer and a resource officer because I've always really in avoid public relationship talking to people communication building those bridges and I know that's especially important with police officers in our youth especially today letting people know the police officers we are here to help you flight safety and that's why I feel that resource officers are great tool for the schools because we can give that added security unofficial counselor for someone to come to who may be going through something or just somebody to talk to you no role somebody to look up to that being said me being here in the high school my office is always open if you guys have any questions any concerns company to get off your chest and something's going on till free to stop in I will gladly hear you out and I'll do what I can to if possible
