Hermiston High School’s FCCLA Co-President Isay Osorio Estrada was recently awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award for his active involvement in the HHS FCCLA Chapter and his abundance of volunteer service hours.
The President’s Volunteer Service Award led by AmeriCorps aims to recognize the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity. This prestigious award is given to members of qualifying organizations, to honor individuals whose service positively impacts communities and inspires those around them.
Osorio Estrada is an active participant in the HHS FCCLA. He has served as a chapter officer the last two years, in addition to serving as an Oregon FCCLA State Officer during the 2022-2023 school year.
“I feel very honored that I was considered for this award and am thankful that I am being recognized for all my hard work,” said Osorio Estrada. “As former President Ronald Reagan once said, “We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone.”

El Co-Presidente de FCCLA de la Preparatoria de Hermiston, Isay Osorio Estrada, recientemente recibió el Premio Presidencial al Servicio Voluntario por su participación activa en el Capítulo de FCCLA de HHS y sus abundantes horas de servicio voluntario.
El Premio Presidencial al Servicio Voluntario dirigido por AmeriCorps tiene como objetivo reconocer el papel importante de los voluntarios en la fortaleza y la identidad nacional de los Estados Unidos. Este prestigioso premio se otorga a los miembros de organizaciones calificantes, para distinguir a individuos cuyo servicio tiene un impacto positivo en las comunidades e inspira a quienes lo rodean.
Osorio Estrada es un participante activo en FCCLA de HHS. Se ha desempeñado como un oficial del capítulo los últimos dos años, además de servir como Oficial Estatal de FCCLA de Oregon durante el año escolar 2022-2023.
“Me siento muy honrado de haber sido considerado para este premio y estoy agradecido de que se me reconozca por todo mi arduo trabajo,” dijo Osorio Estrada. “Como dijo una vez el expresidente Ronald Reagan: “No podemos ayudar a todos, pero todos pueden ayudar a alguien.”
