District Athletics and Activities Director Larry Usher announced Daniel Headley as the new Hermiston High School head volleyball coach.
Headley has 25 years of volleyball coaching experience, the last two years with Hermiston School District as an assistant coach.
“HSD is very excited to start a new chapter in Hermiston Volleyball with Coach Headley,” said Usher. “We believe Dan will do a great job leading Hermiston volleyball, and we look forward to what he, his coaching staff, and our girls can bring to the court in the fall.”
“I appreciate the opportunity to do something I thoroughly enjoy, and that is coaching volleyball,” said Headley. “I am excited to continue building a competitive program that can compete in the tough Mid-Columbia Conference.”
A native of the Columbia Basin, Headley played collegiate volleyball and was a member of the 2002 NAIA National Championship team. He and his wife Kelly have two daughters, Reese (10) and Harper (8).

“HSD está muy emocionado de comenzar un nuevo capítulo con el vóleibol en Hermiston con el entrenador Headley,” comentó Usher. “Creemos que Dan hará un gran trabajo sacando adelante el vóleibol de Hermiston, y estamos anciosos de ver lo que él, su personal de entrenadores, y las muchachas traerán a la cancha en el otoño.”
“Aprecio tener la oportunidad de hacer algo que verdaderamente disfruto, y eso es ser entrenador de vóleibol,” dijo Headley. “Estoy emocionado de continuar desarrollando un programa competitivo que pueda competir en la difícil Conferencia Mid-Columbia.”
Oriundo del Columbia Basin, Headley jugó vóleibol en la universidad y fue miembro del equipo de Campeones Nacionales del NAIA en el 2002. Él y su esposa Kelly tienen dos hijas, Reese (10) y Harper (8).
